Dear Humane Society Friend:
Serving the entire County of Charlevoix, the Humane Society struggles every year to raise enough funds to support our cause. In the past we have done this through small fundraisers, some grants, annual appeals and solicitations. The board, staff, and volunteers work hard to raise every nickel.
The Charlevoix Area Humane Society is an independent nonprofit 501c3 organization; we depend totally upon the generosity of caring individuals to help us carry out our shared mission, which is “To practice and promote the principle that every life is precious. As such, we are committed to the highest principles of humane care and professional treatment of injured, ill, neglected or abused animals”.
It’s now time to try something big, and I am asking for your help.
This fall we are going to throw a major fundraising event, something a little different from most events held in Northern Michigan. The concept is a fun one: Individuals all over the county will host a dinner parties at the same time and invite their friends. It can be themed, it can be fancy with a catered meal, or it can just be a potluck or a barbecue – whatever you like. Guest will be informed ahead of time that the dinner is a fundraising event for the CAHS and the host at some point will make a prepared pitch, asking the guests to make a donation to the Humane Society. After dinner, donations in hand, all participants will come together at a common location for dessert prepared by area restaurants. As dessert is served and more guests arrive, the tally board updates the total funds raised. Then everyone will celebrate the results - with live entertainment, dancing and festivities!
To make this a successful event I need to form an organizational committee and, find early commitments to host a dinner. Please get in touch with me if this is something you might like to be involved in.
Thank you for your support!
